Aikido

Aikido is a derivative of jujitsu. This martial art teaches students to use an opponent's energy against themselves and so tends to focus on deflecting attacks. It involves throwing and tumbling; there is no offense in Aikido.

This art was popularized in film by Steven Segal starting in the late 1980's.

This form of martial art (one of the youngest martial arts, rapidly increasing in popularity) is also an effective form of self-defence.
