Our 8000 square foot Japanese themed dojo and training facility supports the training requirements necessary to produce provincial, national and international champions.

"It was my vision to open a facility which enabled world-class athletes to get all of their training under one roof," explains Sensei Jones.

 

Main Dojo

The main Dojo faces the west wall, representing respect, which is one of the fundamental principles in Japanese martial arts. The floor, floating hardwood, was built using two distinctly different kinds (and colours) of wood. This enabled us to design a "tournament sized kumite (sparring) ring" right into the floor.


Tatami Dojo

The Tatami dojo has cushioned flooring. With extensive boxing equipment and a built in sound system, the room is perfect for the various fitness classes currently offered, including our fitness kickbocking (cardio karate), Jiu Jutsu, Aikido, and self-defense classes.

When the room is not in use, karate students are encouraged to use this area to practice out of regular class.


Weight Training Room

The weight training and fitness room is outfitted with cardiovascular, resistance training, and free weight equipment.

Resistance training builds muscle tone, and increases strength and/or endurance. This is offered to any of our members who are 14 years and older.  Parents of our students can use the weight room for free.

For karate students who are training for competitions, or higher belt levels, this is an excellent form of cross training.
