Sempai Jenkins
Sempai Clint Jenkins was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1981. He began his journey into the art of Karate at the age of 11, and has remained a student of the dojo ever since. Sensei Jones graded Sempai Jenkins to Shodan in 2002, and in 2004 awarded him his Nidan (second degree). Three years later, in November of 2007, Sempai received his Sandan (third degree) from a grading panel consisting of Sensei Jones, Sensei Leo Cossetto, Sensei George Taylor, Sempai Wallace Gossen, and Sempai Jon Juffs.
Throughout his years of training, Sempai Jenkins has actively competed in provincial tournaments and attended seminars all across the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. With the encouragement of Sensei Jones he has also furthered his martial arts backround by training in Judo and Aikido. Additionally, Sempai Jenkins has assisted Sensei Jones in several self defence courses throughout York Region.
Sempai spent six years as a member of the Queen's York Rangers 1st American Regiment army reserve unit from 1999 -2005. During this time he received training in the trade of armored reconnaissance, military tactics, as well as various weapons handling.
In addition to instructing at the dojo, Sempai Jenkins is also a member of the Toronto Police Service, employed as a 1st class constable, and has done so since August of 2004. Currently he works out of 11 Division as a part of the Warrant Apprehension and Bail compliance Unit. He credits his karate training in aiding him to effectively and safely perform his duties within the unit
Sempai enjoys the challenges of teaching within the dojo, and takes great privilege in passing along his knowledge to the younger generation coming up through the ranks. |
